GOLD MEDALS PRESENTED Four gold medals awarded by the Christchurch Shorthand Writers’ Association to pupils who gained Pitman’s certificates for high speed writing were presented last night at Digby’s Commercial School by Mr A. C. Todd, chairman of the Canterbury branch of the Public Service Association. The recipients were Miss Beth McMillan (160 words a minute). Valerie Carter (150 words). Pamela Findlay (150 words), and Joyce Knight (150 words). After the presentations Mr Todd gave an informative talk on the prospects for shorthand-typists in the Public Service. —Advt,
