CHILD’S BODY FOUND
MURDER SUSPECTED (P.A.) WHANGAREI, September 30. A case of suspected murder is reported from Ahipara Hill, an isolated plateau 10 miles north of Kaitaia. Mona James, the three-year-old daughter of Maori parents, was missed at 2 o’clock yesterday afternoon. A search was continued till 11 p.m., when her body was found on the bank of a stream. It had been stripped and the clothing tied tightly round the neck. The body had evidently been in the water.
