VOTING SYSTEM
Sir,—‘‘The Press” of Saturday states that the Maori electoral roll is being compiled. Why should there not be one f eneral roll for Maori and oakeha** Another matter I think needs mention ing. In the Raglan inquiry it was found many used “X” or a tick to indicate those for whom they wished to vote Would it not be better if count councils, harbour boards etc used the same method of voting as at the General Election? jchools. 1 think, usually have a election each year, or should do. There would be only a few uneducated elderly persons and those who are naturally of the shilly-shally type who would .register informal votes.—Your l ?. „ PAKEHA. September 29. 1947.
