EXECUTION OF MR PETKOV
BULGARIAN COMMENT ON PROTESTS (Hee. 7 p.m.) PARIS, September 26. The British, United States, and world press protests against the execution of the Bulgarian Opposition leader, Mr Petkov, were "part of the campaign against Russia and other European States,” said a Bulgarian spokesman in Paris. • “These interventions give encouragement to others like Petkov, who persevere in crime,” he added. “It ;s beyond doubt that petkov was Bte-pa--ing to overthrow the Bulgarian Government,” Speaking of Mr Petkov’s reputation as a resistance leader, the spokesman said: “Petkov had a tendency against the Fascist Bulgarian Government, but opposed the formation of a real democratic popular Government after the war."
