Memorial to Colliery Disaster Victims.—The Czechoslovak Trades Union Congress has announced a plan for building in Britain a miners’ recreation home in memory of the 104 miners who were killed in the Whitehaven colliery disaster on August 15. Miners will work an extra hour and give the money earned to the memorial fund, which will also provide scholarships in Czechoslovakia for the. victims’ children and treatment for the children and the men’s widows in Czech spas.—Prague, September 27.
