MAORI CONCERT
Sir,—Your reference to the forthcoming Maori concert in support of the Aid for Britain campaign will be greatly appreciated by the members of the Ngati Otautahi Maori Association, but jne point requires correction. It will be the first full-scale Otautahi Maori Concert since 1944—n0t quite the same thing as “the first Maori concert since 1944.” On this occasion as in 1943 (for the Maori Girls’ College) and in 1944 (for the Red *Cross) the concert party will comprise performers from the nearby kaingas as well as those normally resident in the Christchurch area—truly a community effort for a worthy cause.—Yours, etc. JOHN STEWART, for the Ngati Otautahi Maori Association. September 27, 1947.
