The Ayrshire miners w’ho had been expected to resume work, decided to remain on strike until October 2 to test a statement, alleged to have been made by union leaders, that they would sacrifice their special holiday pay and bonus unless they returnee! to work to-day. The miners, at a general meeting, protested strongly against the union leaders’ attitude and demanded that they should explain their conduct.
