MINIATURE RIFLE SHOOTING
RESULTS OF DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIPS
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Sept. 26. Some remarkable scoring was returned in the New Zealand Miniature Rifle Association’s championships conducted throughout the country recently. The A grade was won by Miss Anderson (Westmere); who was runner-up last year, with a brilliant aggregate of 300.25. She also won the women’s championship. R. H. Nicholl (Petone Central), with 299.27, was runner-up, followed by S. L Luxford (Hastings) and H. Nickless (Wellington Municipal), each with 299.25. and R. E. Taylbr (Cashmere), D. Robertson (Hutt), and G. Rhodes (Carterton) with 299.22.
Even more remarkable were scores in the B grade, which was won by R. Cunningham (United, Christchurch), with an aggregate of 300.27. An extra inner bull gave him a win over F. Forbes (Napier). who finished with 300.26. J. H. Littlejohn (Westmese) was third with 299.21.
The C grade was won by W. Stark (Wanganui) with 297.17, and the D grade by Mrs J. Newton (Wanganui Citizens) With 296.
D. O’Brien (Brooklyn), a Technical College boy who has been shooting for only a few months, S. M. Hope (Wigram), H. Smith (Tamaki), B. McDonald (Tamaki), and G. D. Watkins (Napier), were next with 295. ®
The season’s aggregate was won by S. L. Luxford (Hastings) with 498.36. He was an inner bull ahead of F. J. Jeune (Gisborne), whose total was 498.35. Winners of teams’ notches were:—A grade, Dunedin Railway; B grade, Napier: C grade. West End; D grade, Napier.
