MAGISTRATE’S COURT

FRIDAY (Before Mr F. F. Reid, S.M.) A youth, whose name was suppressed, pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing a pair of roller skates valued at £4 10s. It was stated that he sold the skates for 15s, but they had been recovered. He was convicted and ordered to come up for sentence if called upon within 12 months, and he was ordered to make restitution of 15s within 14 days. Parking too near intersection.—Owen Arthur Hughes, 10s. Dangerous driving.—Osborne James Hawkins, £2. Parking too near a fireplug.—lan Raymond Kalpan, 10s. No driver’s licence.—John Mitchell, £l. WOMAN SENTENCED Ethyl Zylpha McEntee. a domestic, aged 26, was sentenced to 14 days’ imprisonment on a charge of obtaining credit by fraud in incurring a debt of £1 10s for taxi hire. On a charge of unlawfully wearing a Merchant. Navy war service badge she was convicted and discharged. - CIVIL CASES THURSDAY (Before Mr H. P. Lawry, S.M.) Waitikiri Links, Ltd., proceeded against J. L. O’Connell for possession of a tenement. and on a claim for £26. The plaintiff was awarded judgment for the amount claimed, and an order was made for the plaintiff to be given possession by October 2.
