INCREASED TOMATO GROWTH
(Special Correspondent N.Z.PA.) (Rec. 8 P,m.) LONDON, Sept. IS. The discovery of a chemical compound which primes nature So that tomatoes three times the normal size* and other fruits, ripen more rapidly, is reported from Moscow. It is said that plants sprayed with the stimulant bore tomatoes which exceeded all others in size and nutritive value. Successful results were also obtained In fruit plantations. Slew-growing ofange, tangerine* lemon* and olive trees when stimulated with the synthetic spray produced a dense net of roots in 10 daya.
