KRAMER RETAINS TITLE

HARD MATCH AGAINST . PARKER (Rec. 7 p.m.) „ NEW YORK, September 14. Kramer beat Parker, 4-6, 2-6, 6-1, 6-0, 6-3, in the final of the American lawn tennis singles championship at Forest Hills to-day. Kramer’s reach, strength, and accuracy contrasted in the closing stages with Parker's heroic bids for recovery and occasional fine passing strokes in desperate bids to save the match. It was a magnificent display by Kramer, proving him a champion who could come from behind. He was not intimidated even by the loss of the first two sets into changing his game. In the final of the women’s singles, from the outset, and though Miss Osborne made a great recovery from 2-3 to win the second set by splendid volleying and passing shots, she offered no serious opposition in the deciding The final of the mixed doubles was won by J. Bromwich and Miss Brough, who beat P. Segura and Miss Gertrude Moran, 6-3, 6-1. In this Match, Miss Bro Ugh made her fourth appearance of the day. She had previously played the deciding set against Mrs N. Bolton, Won the women’s championship, and helped Bromwich to win the semi-final of the mixed doubles.
