A CARELESS MOTORIST

Sir, —When wheeling my baby along Bealey avenue going west at 4.25 o.m. on Wednesday, a small car, travelling very quickly and without giving warning by sounding his horn, came out of a gateway, which has an eight-foot brick fence topped by trees each side. Two others who saw and I were horrified; and I still am to think what would have happened to my little uaby had the pram been less than 12 inches nearer. I am a motorist and know to sound the horn and drive slowly, glancing from side to side coming out of gateways, etc., so hidden. This man did not, for it was only when he had turned east into Bealey avenue and glanced backwards over his shoulder that he knew we were ♦here. I hope this catches the eye of the man concerned.—Yours, etc., HAVE A CARE DANGER’S THERE. August 29, 1947.
