COWLISHAW CUP WIN FOK HAGLEY CLUB Forty players, representative of 10 clubs, took part in the competition for the Cowlishaw Cup played at Shirley yesterday. The winners were the team from the Hagley Club, with the Hanmer Springs and Russley teams equal in second place, Kaiapoi fourth, and last year’s winners (the Templeton team) fifth. The weather was cold and the scoring was disappointing. The Hagley Club has held the cup on one previous occasion—in 1927—when the competition was inaugurated. The Pumphrey Cup for the best net score by a competitor was won by Mrs I. Wright, of Kaiapoi, whose score was 100, 26 74. The Manuhiri Cup for the best net score by a member of the Christchurch Ladies’ Club, who acted as scorers for the competitors in the Cowlishaw Cup competition, was won by Mrs lan Cromb, who, with a score of 104, 34—70, reduced her handicap.
