STRIKE BALLOTS BILL
TIMBER WORKERS’ UNION
OBJECTS (P.A.) GREYMOUTH, Aug. 26. The Westland Timber Workers’ Union executive to-day carried a resolution demanding the withdrawal of the proposed amendments to the Industrial Conciliation and Arbitration Act and assuring the Federation of Labour full support in any action they may decide upon in fighting the proposed amendment. Another resolution demanded the resignation .of Mr F. C. Allerby. the newly-elected workers’ representative on the Arbitration Court, for not dissenting from the Court’s standard wages decision, which, it was contended, granted the majority of workers no increase.
