South African Cricketers.— ln a cricket match against South Africa at Southend, Essex, in its first innings, made 380 (Gray 98. Crabtree 117, Silcox 72). —London, August 23. World Featherweight Title.— Willie Pep (Bst 13^lb) successfully defended his world featherweight title at Flint, Michigan, when he knocked out Jock Leslie (Bst 131 b) in the twelfth round of a scheduled 15-round contest. Pep was in front almost all the way. There was no knock-down until the twelfth round.—New York. August 23.
