DEBATING COMPETITION CONCLUDED
The Christchurch Federated Debating Clubs concluded their competitions this week with the holding of the two women’s sections. The judge was Mr H. P. Smith. Results were:— Women’s prepared speech, Miss F. Dick (W.E.A.) 1, Miss F. Gorman (Riccarton Catholic Club) 2, Miss B. Thompson (St. Anne’s Club) 3. Impromptu speech. Miss E. J. Gdanitz (St. Mary’s Literary and Debating Club) 1, Mrs D. Arnst (W.E.A.) 2, Miss P. Brady XSt. Joseph’s) 3.
