Special Climbing School

A suggestion by the Otago University Ski Club to the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr W. E. Parry) that a climbing school for amateurs should be established with the object of training sufficient young climbers so that all club parties could include experienced climbers was supported by the executive of the Federated Mountain Clubs of New Zealand at a meeting which was held at Stratford Mountain House on Mount Egmont. It was stated that this would help to avoid accidents, and trained men could pass on their experience to others.
