BOXING
CATHEDRAL GRAMMAR SCHOOL CHAMPIONSHIPS The finals of the Cathedral Grammar School boxing tournament were held in the Christ’s College gymnasium on Thursday. The Pears Cup for the most improved boxer was won by B. Worsnon, winner of the feather-weight. R. Pears was unopposed for the heavy-weight championship. Results were as follows: Midget-weight: S. Hall beat P. Miller-mosquito-weight: S. Tanner beat T. Phipps; fly-weight, P. Owen beat E. Thomson; paper-weight: B. Read beat T. Hoskin; feather-weight: B. WoYsnop beat G. Hoskin; bantam-weight: T. Taylor beat C. Nelson; light-weight: R, Hodder beat R. Weallans; welter-weight: R. Collins beat G. Hoyfee; light-heavy-weight: K. Pears beat R. Beauchamp.
