UNION TO PROCEED WITH DEMANDS (Rec. 10 p.m.) LONDON, August 22. The National Union of Boot and Shoe Operatives, which has been appealing for wage increases, reconsidered the situation in the light of Mr Attlee’s appeal for wage stability, and decided to proceed with its demands for an increase of £1 a week for men and 28s for women.
