YESTERDAY IN THE HOUSE

(From Our Parliamentary Reporter.) WELLINGTON, August 21. The House of Representatives this evening applauded the Minister of Finance (Mr V- Nash) after he had finished reading the Budget. It took him one hour and 45 minutes. There were almost no interjections. As* usual all the galleries were crowded.

A technical resolution dealing with beer duty was passed. Before the House rose at 9.40 p.m., rhe Leader of the Opposition (Mr S. G. Holland) expressed good wishes to the Prime Minister (Mr P. Fraser) for the success of his mission to the Canberra conference.

The Canterbury Museum Trust Board Bill was passed this afternoon. The resumed debate on the Imprest Supply Bill, in which members continued to discuss high-country farming was interrupted by the adjournment at 5.30 p.m.
