NO AUSTRALIAN STATEMENT
ACTION URGED BY UNO ASSOCIATION
<Rec. 8 p.m.) ADELAIDE, July 29. A meeting of the executive of the South Australian division of the United Nations Association decided to request the Federal organ of the United Nations in Australia to urge the Commonwealth Government to bring before the Security Council the situation existing in Indonesia, as a state of affairs which might lead to international friction. Canberra reports indicate that a statement on Australia’s efforts to seek a solution to the Indonesian problem is not expected for some days. The Prime Minister (Mr Chifley) has no comment to make.
