RADIO FOR POLICE PATROLS
INSTALLATION UNDER CONSIDERATION
Arrangements are under consideration for the institution of two-way radio communication for the police in Christchurch. The proposed site for radio mast is on Cashmere Hills, on the left of the track leading from the Sign of the Takahe to Victoria Park and a route for the power line has been surveyed by the Heathcote County, Council. The matter is being handled by the Post and Telegraph Department. The proposed scheme is similar to those how in operation in Wellington and Auckland and will facilitate emergency and patrol work.
