POWER SAVINGS IN CHRISTCHURCH
IMPROVED FIGURES FOR WEEK
Power savings in Christchurch last week were slightly above the quota of 10 per cent, because of an improvement in the week-end figures. For the week ended at midnight on Sunday the saving for the Municipal Electricity Department’s extended area was 10.4 per cent. In the extended area the saving for the six days up to midnight on Saturday was 10.6 per cent.
The figures for Sunday were 9.1 per cent, for the original area and 8.2 per cent, for the extended area. For the 24 hours up to midnight on Saturday the figure for the original are? was 10.9 per cent, and for the extended area 9.2 per cent.
The level of Lake Coleridge yesterday was unchanged at 1664.62 ft. The flow in the Waitaki river was 5100 cusecs, slightly below Sunday’s figure. In the Lake Harper area there was a light fall of rain, .07 inches being recorded. Elsewhere the Weather yesterday was calm and cold.
