SCIENCE FOR ALL
Sir, —In reply to M. G. Davies, I agree that the great Thomas Huxley, along with Darwin, Spencer, Mill, Haeckel. Pain, A. W. Benn, H. G. Wells. Winwood Reade. Locke, Berkeley Hume, and Kant have given me some'interesting thoughts in my spare time as one of the working class. The essentially revolutionary character of modern science is recognised by the ruling class to-day and but little effort is therefore made to bring these truths within the reach of those whom they would help to freedom. Because I am a nature lover and a socialist, and because the truths of science bring strong support to the movement for industrial and social freedom, I would gladly accept any advice M. G. Davies could recommend to help me to attain in my crude way real knowledge in the field of science.—Yours, etc., RAILWAY NAVVY. July 28, 1947.
