MAN KILLED AT RANGIORA
STRUCK BY MOTOR-TRUCK Daniel James Fergusson. aged 66. single, was struck by a motor-truck driven by John Alexander Gordon Fulton, aged 21. of Okuku Pass, in Ashley street. Rangiora. about 6.30 p.m. on Saturday, and killed instantly. Mr Fergusson, who was deaf, lived in Ashley road, near the Ashley bridge, Rangiora. An inquest was opened yesterday before Mr H. P. Lawry, the Coroner, and after evidence of identification, was adjourned sine die. TWO CARS COLLIDE MAN, WOMAN, AND FOUR CHILDREN INJURED (P.A.) WELLINGTON, July 27. Two motor-cars of the same type driven by drivers of the same name were involved in a collision on the Main Hutt road, Lower Hutt, on Saturday. Six persons were injured. Matthew P. Wilson was driving alone in one car, and Mrs Vera Evelyn Wilson in the other. She was accompanied by four children. Wilson, an electrician, of Bell road. Lower Hutt, had his chin cut, and suffered concussion.
Mrs Wilson, 20 Puriri street, Lower Hutt, received a cut to her left knee, abrasions to her head, eoncussion, and shock. Her daughter. Barbara, aged 8, received concussion and shock. John Probert, aged 10, of Mason street, Moera, suffered an injury to his mouth, concussion, and shock. Mrs Wilson and the children were admitted to the Hutt Hospital where their condition was reported t© be satisfactory. Dorothy Probert, aged eight, received a bruised right eye, and Mary Probert, aged six, was slightly injured.
TWO MEN INJURED IN COLLISIONS
Two men were injured in accidents in the city on Saturday. Alexander Simpson, aged 25, of 37 Harker street, Spreydon, suffered concussion when he collided with another cyclist, and was admitted . to the Christchurch Public Hospital at 5.30 p.m. His condition last evening was ♦eported to be fairly satisfactory. When a car and a truck collided in Madras street, near Bealev avenue. Albert Wylie, aged 22. of 167 Edgeware road, St. Albans, suffered head injuries. He was admitted to the hospital at 6.50 p.m., and his condition last evening was satisfactory.
THREE PERSONS INJURED WHEN CAR LEAVES ROAD From Our Own Reporter GREYMOUTH, July 27. A five-seater sedan motor-car was badly wrecked when it left the road at the Blackball-Ngahere crossroads on the Greymouth-Reefton main highway and crashed first into a bank and then among the rails on a timber siding. Three of the four occupants were admitted to the Grey Hospital, but none of their injuries was serious, and they are reported .to be progressing satisfactorily. The driver of the car, Robert Steel, suffered cuts to the eyebrows and an arm, and was discharged from hospital to-aay. Miss Pearl Faulkner, 24, Kaiata, a passenger, suffered a fractured nose and possible internal injuries, and Miss Marie Marsh. 22, Kaiata, suffered concussion. The fourth member of the party. William Woolhouse, received a cut on one leg. and was treated as an outpatient. The accident occurred shortly after midnight It was raining at the time and visibility was not good. There have been previous mishaps at this junction, as the road slopes away to the railway line towards Blackball.
