TALK WITH MR FRASER
- The Press " Special Service ROTORUA, July 27. With no engagements, FieldMarshal Lord Montgomery to-day had something of a break from the constant round of receptions that have been held in his honour since his New Zealand visit began. He flew from Gisborne to Rukuhia, and motored from there to Rotorua, where he was i' oined by the Prime Minister (Mr P. •’raser). Because his Rotorua visit does not officially begin until to-morrow, FieldMarshal Montgomery was welcomed at his hotel by a small crowd There were enough persons, however, to keep several policemen busy, and they gave the distinguished visitor a cheer as he appeared With Mr Fraser, Field-Marshal Montgomery moved among the people for a few minutes before entering his hotel. The Prime Minister drove from Wellington to Rotorua to-day, and tonight he conferred for some time with the field-marshal. He said later that he had not completed his business with the field-marsnal earlier, and had taken this opportunity to conclude discussions.
