PUKUC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN ' that the following estimate prepared and approved by the Oxford County Council, pursuant to Section 2, Sub-section 4 of ; "The Counties Amendment Act, 1931," I showing for the period 12 months commencing on the Ist day of April. 1047, and ending on the 31st day of March. 1948: (1) THE PROPOSED EXPENDITURE) of the said Council:— £ (a) On Administration, including Salaries, Allowances, Office and Legal Expenses, Audit, Valuation, Insurance, Advertising. Printing, etc. 900 (b) On Public Works and Contingencies .. 2908 (c) On Grants and Donations .. 50 (d) On Main Highways .. 2000 (e) On Other Roads 1500 (f) On Drains and Fords .-. 200 (g) On Reserves and Cemetery 250 Total .. .. 7808 (2) THE ESTIMATED RECEIPTS of the said Council:— (a) Credit balance at;?l/4/47 .. 1772 (b) Rents and Subsidies .. 800 (c) Licences, Dog Fees, Sundry Sales and Refunds ;. 600 (d) Main Highways .. 1500 Total .. .. 4672 (3) THE ADDITIONAL SUM REQUIRED IS:— £3136 (4) The Total rateable Capital value of the property on the Valuation Roll Is £814,500. (5) The General Rate thereon necessary to raise tne required sum is fifteen-sixteenths of a penny (15/16) in the pound. PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that it is the intention of the Oxford County Council at its next Ordinary Meeting on August sth, 1947, to make and levy a General Rate of fifteen-sixteenths of a penny (15/16) in the pound; a Hospital Rat. of one half-penny (J) in the pound; a Consolidated Loan Rate of three-sixteenths of a penny (3/16) in the 1 pound; and a Catchment. Board Rate of one-fortieth of a penny (1/40) in the pound, on all rateable property in the County of Oxford. Also, in pursuance of the Water Supply .Act, to make and levy a water-race I rate of (sd) per acre (minimum 10/-) on 1 all rateable property in the Eyre Water Race Sub-division; a water-race rate of 1 sixpence (8d) per acre (minimum 5/-) and one farthing Qd) in the pound on improvements (minimum 5/-) on all ratei able property in the Cooper’s Creek water-race Sub-division; a water-race rate of threepence (3d) per acre (minimum 2/6) and one-eighth of a penny (Jd) in the pound on improvements i (minimum 2/6) on all rateable property in th? Gammans Creek Subdivision. AND Rates as directed by SPECIAL i ORDER of the North Canterbury Catchi ment Board Such rates to be for the period commencing on the Ist day of April, 1947, and \ ending on the 31st day of March, 1948.
