HOUSING SHORTAGE IN U.S.
(Rec. 10.30.) WASHINGTON, July 23. Federal housing officials estimated to-day that 2,000,000 former American servicemen were so badly affected by the housing shortage that they were living with relatives by marriage or in tents, trailers, basements, attics, converted chicken-coops or other makeshift quarters. The figures covered only those in urgent need.
