INDONESIANS IN MALAYA
PLANS FOR HELP TO REPUBLICANS
ARMED FORCE ALREADY ORGANISED (N.Z. Press Association— Copyright) (Rec. 9.30 pan.) SINGAPORE. duly 24. Indonesians in Malaya are planning a wholesale boycott of Dutch goods, and young Indonesians in Malaya have planned and organised one battalion to join the armed units in Indonesia for action against the Dutch. This was stated in Kuala Lumpur yesterday by Mr Abdul Hadi Noor, secretary of the Persatuan Indonesia Merdeka (Indonesian Independence Organisation), which claims a membership of 12,D00. Mr Noor said that recruiting would be confined to those who had received military training under the Japanese. Indonesians in the Malayan Union have already been ferried across the Straits of Malacca during the last few weeks to help the Republicans. The Indonesian headquarters in Malaya are calling an emergency meeting to discuss what' steps can be taken by Malayan Indonesians to help thejr homeland.
