FARM LABOURERS
Sir, —“Think Again” is quite correct, in parts. There are some farmers who treat their workers as human beings, and give them every consideration, but I have found several of the other kind. These consider a man is only a worker, get as many hours out of him as possible, and have no consideration for his accommodation, until they find that no one will accept the position under such conditions. I consider the farm worker is fully entitled to the extra £1 a week, as very often he is compelled to work out in all kinds of weather. I have yet to find the squatter who will add an extra pound or two to his pay on pay day.—Yours, etc., FARM LABOURER NO. I. Culverden, July 23. 1947.
