RECEIVED STOLEN GOODS
BARMAN SENTENCED TO IMPRISONMENT (P.A.) WELLINGTON, July 24. Samuel Sturgess, aged 61, a barman, was sentenced to 12 months’ imprisonment with hard labour on a charge of receiving stolen goods by his Honour Mr Justice Cornish in the Supreme Court at Wellington to-day. His Honour warned Sturgess that if he had been a regular receiver a very heavy sentence would have been imposed.
