MEDICAL STAFF AT HOSPITAL
BOARD TO ADVERTISE SENIOR POSITIONS
Senior positions on the medical staff of the Christchurch Hospital will be advertised in New Zealand apd the United Kingdom. This was decided yesterday by the North Canterbury Hpspital Board after the finance committee had recommended that three positions should be advertised. It was stated that the medical staff executive desired to see the senior posts at the hospital held by men of experience, and that the Department of Health wanted tlje board’s full-time staff increased, rather than the parttime staff.
The positions to be advertised are:— assistant medical superintendent, salary qf £l2OO a year, living out; surgical registrar, £lOOO a year, living in; medical registrar, £ 1000 'a year, living in. If possible, the duties will start on January 1, 1948.
