KINDERGARTEN FOR SOUTH BRIGHTON
MEMORIAL TO MR D. G SULLIVAN
A public meeting at New Brighton last evening, convened by the Christchurch Free Kindergarten Association, approved of a proposal to erect a free kindergarten at South Brighton to be called the Sullivan Memorial (South Brighton) Free Kindergarten, as a memorial to the late Mr D. G. Sullivan. It was stated that the association had a section in Bridge street, which would be a suitable site for the building. A committee will be elected to raise funds for Ihe building, which is estimated to cost about £3OOO. With a Government subsidy, about £l5OO will have to be raised by the committee. A petition requesting that the building be called the Sullivan Memorial Kindergarten had been signed by 405 residents of South Brighton in two days, said Mrs D. Arnst.
