MAN KILLED BY FALL FROM TREE
I. P.A.) AUCKLAND, July 23. ' Lawrence Noakes, aged 62, died shortly after he fell from a pine tree on his property at Upper Waiwera. He was a married man with seven children. Noakes had climbed the tree to gather pine cones. Members of his family in the house nearby heard a crash and found him in a sitting position on the ground at the foot of the tree. He was helped into the house, but died before the arrival of an ambulance, which had been summoned from Auckland.
