BRITISH EXPORT FIGURES
APRIL-JUNE QUARTER (Special Correspondent N.Z.P.A.) (Rec. 8 p.m.) LONDON, July 22. The value of United Kingdom exports for the second quarter of this year was £265,400,000. This is an increase of £15,700,000 on the first quarter. It was 105 per cent, of the 1938 average volume of exports, or 6 per cent. lower than the figure of the last quarter of 1946.
South Africa v. Yorkshire.— ln reply to South Africa’s first innings total of 279, Yorkshire had lost one for 171 at tea, when rain stopped play for the day. Hutton, who, it was announced, will be fit for the fourth test, scored 117 not out, and Keighley made 51. London, July 2L
