SYMPATHY WITH INDONESIANS
INDIAN PRESS URGES BRITISHU.S. ACTION
(Rec. 1.30 a.m.) BOMBAY, July 22. The Indian press is expressing sympathy with the Indonesians’ calls on Britain and America to act.
The Madras Nationalist newspaper “Hindu” says: “Since British and United States representations played a part in Indonesian acceptance of many of the Dutch demands, Britain and America cannot stay idle while the Dutch troops go into action.”
The Bombay Congress Party paper, “National Standard,’’ says: “Let Britain and the United States act if they do not want to forfeit Asia’s esteem.”
