WIDESPREAD EUROPEAN COMPETITION (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) ■ LONDON, July 17. Offerings for to-days aud to-moriow’s London wool sales total 20,676 bales, of which were soid to-uay. The offerings included 4404 New Zealand and 7179 Australian. Unaer widespread European comeptiuon, an excellent clearance was effected. Greasy merino from South Africa ruled 5 to 7£ per cent, higher than last week. ; Comebacks, free from fault, were fully 10 , per cent., and scoured crossbreds 5 per ; cent., higher. Rates for other sorts were ! firmly maintained.
