JAPANESE GOODS FOR AUSTRALIA
FIRST BIG POST-WAR SHIPMENT
(Rec. 12.5 a.m.) MELBOURNE. July 3. The first big post-war shipment of Japanese goods to Australia will be on its way this month. The publicity office of the British Commonwealth Occupation Force announces that the freighter River Clarence will leave Kure for Kobe on Sunday to load 1300 tons of textiles and the usual monthly shipment of 21 cases of silk for Australia. The textiles represent half of the 12.000,000 linear yards purchased by the Australian purchasing mission to Japan.
