SOCIALISM IN NEW ZEALAND
Sir, —I desire to add my criticism and condemnation of the Communists to that of Mr W. J. Sim, to which the party objects. Ever since 1928 I have off and on attended their meetings, and at all of them, have heard nothing but bitter • revilings against Britain (especially) and America. Well, the Communists have never done anything to better conditions for British or American people, who successfully ran their own countries without Russian aid. But on the other hand Britain has aided Russia during famines, etc., very freely, and during, the war when Britain was fighting on half a dozen fronts, Russia was still allied to Germany. Japan, and Italy. When Germany attacked Poland on one side, Russia fought Poland on the other.— Yours, etc., L.P. July 3, 1947.
