Buttle right so far as oil is concerned in the Near East, but even if the control of that is put under the care of the United Nations, it would only be effective if all members are free from obligation to other members; and the course of America handing out loans and mili- • tary equipment to other member States may make Russia still mbre suspicious. Russia may imagine that the votes of members from China, the Philippines. Greece. Turkey. Mexico, end now Iran, may be influenced in 'favour of America, during any debate in UNO. If UNO is to do any real good, it must be kept above suspicion. —Yours, etc.. WARNED. 1 May 5, 1947.
