BADGE OF R.A.F. PATHFINDERS
COMMITTEE RECOMMENDS ABOLITION < R ec. 7 p.m.) LONDON, May 5. Air Force Pathfinders, who sought out and lit up targets for Bomber Command during the mammoth war-time air raids, are threatened with the loss of their distinctive eagle badge and are petitioning the for its retention, says the “Daily Mail.”
An Air Ministry committee, which was established to suggest changes in the Royal Air Force uniform recommended the abolition of the eagle Dodge. The Australian, Air Vice-Marshal D. C. Bennett, who founded and led the Pathfinders, said: “I can’t imagine that such an appalling proposition could seriously be considered.”
