LAWN TENNIS
U.S. PLAYERS TURN PROFESSIONAL (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) NEW YORK, May S. Miss Pauline Betz and Mrs Sarah Pal-frey-Cooke. who have dominated American women's tennis since 1941. have announced that they have turned professional. In their coming tour they will be directed by Mrs Cooke's husband, Mr Elwood Cooke. The United States Lawn Tennis Association recently suspended both players after a letter seeking a professional engagement for the two was circulated by Mr Cooke.
