WARNING ISSUED BY COMPANY
NEED TO SHUT OFF APPLIANCES
A warning that consumers should shu* off all appliances before 6 p.m. and not relight them until 6 a.m. was issued by the Christchurch Gas Company yesterday. The warning applied particularly to the use of water heaters and other appliances without pilot lights. When restrictions had been imposed in other centres, unfortunate accidents had occurred when instructions had been disregarded, added the statement by the company.
