WOMEN’S DIVISION OF FEDERATED FARMERS
Belfast.—Mrs Fairweather presided at the annual meeting of the Belfast branch. The following officers were elected:—president, Mrs Salt; vice-presidents, Mesuames Forrest and McCormick; secretary, Mrs S. Small; treasurer, Miss Crawford; committee, Mesdarhes Buchanan,- Cox, Farquhar, Taylor, Kaye, and Crawford. At mon t h .ly meeting of the branch Mrs Salt presided. Competitions resulted as follows:—large bloom, Mrs Jones 1, Mrs Crawford 2; small bloom, Mrs Smith and Miss Crawford (equal) 1, Mrs Crawford 3; tumbler of mixed flowers, Mrs Taylor and Mrs Salt equal, 1, Mrs Crawford 3; carrots, Mrs McCormick 1, Miss Crawford 2; custard squares, Mrs Taylor 1, Mrs McCormick 2.
Papanui-Waimalrl.— The annual meeting of the branch was held recently. Mrs Waghorn presided. The following officers were electedpresident, Mrs S. F. Marshall; vice-presidents, Mesdames Moncrief! and M. Marshall; secretary and treasurer, Mrs R. Nicholls; assistantsecretary, Mrs Cresswell; advisory member, Mrs Reynolds; committee, Mesdames Campbell, O’Rourke, Stonyer, Cresswell, Todd, McKenzie, Gagliardi, and Philpott. Prizes for the highest points for the year were awarded as follows; — flowers: Mrs Nicholls 1, Mrs Reynolds 2, Sewing: Mrs Cresswell 1, Mrs Philpott 2. Vegetables: Mrs F. Marshall 1, Mrs Reynolds 2. Redcllffs.—Mrs Palmer presided at the annual meeting of the Redcliffs branch of the division.
Diamond Harbour-Purau.—A report on the women’s rally held recently at Christchurch was given by Mrs Heath at the annual meeting of the branch. Mrs J. Hunter presided. The following officers were elected:—president, Mrs J. Hunter; vice-presidents, Mrs Agar and Wood; secretary, Mrs Good; treasurer, Mrs Jackson; committee, Mesdames Maxwell, Manson, Oliver, Sandy, and Hall; Competitions resulted as follows:—arrangement of-bowl: Mrs Mackey 1, Mrs Candy 2, Mesdames Agar and Hunter (equal) 3. Single bloom: Mrs Hunter 1, Mrs Manson 2, Mrs Candy 3. Saucer: Mrs Mackey 1, Mrs Candy 2. Monthly cup; Mrs Mackey. Result for year: floral, Mrs Hunter 1; cooking, Mrs Candy 1.
