FRIENDLY SOCIETIES’ CONFERENCE

The first national conference of the Dominion Council of Friendly Societies to be held in Christchurch will take place next Wednesday. About 30 delegates will attend, representing 915 lodges with a total membership of 80,000. Mr O. Jacobsen, of Christchurch. is president and will give the opening address. Mr J. C. Stewart will also give an address about improving the services of friendly societies. Arrangements have been made for the visitors to be entertained on tours of the city and the Summit road.
