PIGEON FLYING
TEAMS’ RACE FROM KAIKOURA A two-bird teams' race from Kaikoura was held recently by the East Christchurch Racing Pigeon Club, nine owners competing. The birds registered fast times. The winning pair, owned by J. W. Crowthers, flew the distance of 104 miles 709 yards in Ihr 50min 6sec. Results were:—J. W. Crowthers (1668 yards a minute) 1; J. H. Beale (1665) 2; R. Moore (1656) 3. One of Beale’s pigeons won the nominated bird prize.
