WOMAN ATTACKED

INTRUDER IN BEDROOM (P.A.) NEW PLYMOUTH, April 15. Attacked by an unknown intruder who broke into her bedroom at 6 o’clock yesterday morning, Mrs A. Harrison, a widow, living at 26 Dixon avenue, Hawera. suffered severe shock and two scalp wounds, presumably bv blows from a blunt instrument. Mrs Harrison lives with her daughter. Mrs M. Matthews. Roused by shouts from her mother’s room. Mrs Matthews was going to her assistance when she caught a glimpse of a man leaving through the front door of the house. He had taken the precaution of removing the fuse at the electric light meter, so that the lights could not be switched on. Nothing was missing from the house.
