PIGEON FLYING

EAST CHRISTCHURCH CLUB The East Christchurch Racing Pigeon Club recently flew off a young bird race from Kaikoura. Sixty-two birds were sent, divided among 10 owners. The birds put up fairly fast times. The winner was J. Crowther’s bird, No. 18, which flew the distance of 104 miles 709 yards in 2hr 39min 26sec, The following is the result: J. No. 18, 1152 yards per min.; M. Hoxman’s No. 236, 1131: W. Wall’s No. 327, 1129; J. H. Beale’s No. 309, 1128; R. Moore’s No. 266, 1124; C. Winder’s No. 457, 1121; Warren Brothers’ No. 157, 1121; R.
