CHRISTCHURCH CLUB A bogev handicap match was played by the Christchurch Golf Club at Shirley on Saturday. Results:—J. V. Glasson, 3 up; R. S. O’Neill, 2 up; P. B. Phillips, 2 up; J. L. Blair, 1 up. HOLE IN ONE Playing at Avondale yesterday, H.#S. Derbidge holed in one at the fifteenth, “The Firs.” The distance is 173 yards. AVONDALE CLUB Results of the stroke handicap, played on Saturday were:—A grade—A. H. I’Bell, 76, 6—70; L. H. Boyd, 81, 11—70; C. Cormack, 79, 8—71; T Condliffe, 80, 9—71; H. E. Clarke, 81, 10—71. A Stableford bogey played by the Avondale Golf Club yesterday resulted:—J. Grange, 40; L. H. Boyd, 38; A. B. 8001, *37; D. Richardson, 37. RUSSLEY CLUB Best scores in a four-ball bogey aggregate match with Stableford scoring, which was played by the Russley Golf Club on Saturday, were:—J. H. Scott and C. G. Penlington, 75; H. L. Blamires and L. D. Richards, 71; H. F. Butland and L. R. Dunster, 71. The first qualifying rounds for the R. T. -Tosswill Cup (for players with handicaps of 12 or less), Victory Cup (for players with handicaps of 13 or more), and the flights qualifying round, were also played. Those with best scores for the first round of the Toss will Cup were:—W. R. Smith, 82, 11—71; D. S. Gower, 81, 10—71; N. S. Cramond, 81, 9—72; L. E. Robinson, 79, 6—73; J. P. Gilmour, 78, 5—73; G. P. WAITIKIRI CLUB Results of the Stableford bogey played by the Waitikiri Golf Club yesterday were:—D. L. Woon (scr.), 34; J. W. Arnold (8), 33; J. W. Jackson (2), 32; J. Stack (9), 32; M. R. TEMPLETON CLUB The Templeton Country Club began its 1947 season on Sunday with a single Stableford in the morning and.a fourball bogey in the afternoon. Best scores were-.—morning round, G. Day (9), 37; A. E. Benzie (8), 35; R. .Spicer (6), 33. Afternoon round, G. Moore (12), and D. Clifford (18), 5 up; J. Thomas (6), and Mrs Thomas (15), 2 up; D. Thomas (18 , and D. Miller (19), 1 up; R. primmer (12), and S. Craze (17), 1 up; R. Riddell (7), and E. G. Mitchell (16), 1 up. HAGLEY CLUB The Crowley Cup competition (bo-gey ringers), which was played at the Hagley golf course on Saturday, was won by W A. Purdie, 16 up. The best scores returned in a stroke competition were:—R. D. Johnston, 77, 10—67; A. K. Smith, 74, 6—68; C. McCormick, 87, 19—68; A. C. Wright, 89, 21—68. The summer competition for the best net score over three rounds of stroke play resulted:—M. C. Smith (winner on count back) 209, A. C. Wright 209, J. G. Johnston 211, L. S. Ayers 213.

WAIMAIRI BEACH CLUB A four-ball bogey played on Sunday by the Waimairi Beach Golf Club resulted:— L. Calvert (11) and T. de la Mare (9), 7 up; H. V. Rossi (9) and D. Smith (13), 4 up; R. L. Calvert (12) and P. Butler (11), 3 up: C. Caldwell (2) and W. A. Caldwell (7), 3 up. The afternoon stroke match played over 12 holes resulted:—J. McMaster 59, 13— 46; D. Smith, 56, 9—47; J. Masterton. 63, 15—48; J. P. Whatman, 63, 15—48.

RAWHITI CLUB The best scores in a four-ball, bogey played by the Rawhiti Golf Club on Sunday were:—N. Barritt and J. Potts, 6 up; J. Simon and R. Lamb, 4 up; J. and T. Millard, 4 up. The best scores by women players in a stroke handicap were:—Mrs L. Wise, IC4, 36—68; Miss M. Duncan, 94, 24—70; Mrs E. W. Christiansen, 96, 26—70.
