AMERICANS TO PLAY AT LOWER HUTT

(PA.) WELLINGTON, Jan. 23. Because of an alteration in the time of their departure from Auckland for the United States, the American tennis E layers, G. Mulloy and W. Talbert, will e able to play exhibition matches in only one centre in New Zealand. It has now been arranged by the New Zealand Tennis Council that Mulloy and Talbert will appear at Lower Hutt on February 4 from 10.30 a.m. to 1.30 p.m. These hours of plav are necessary because the Americans must return by special aircraft to Auckland oh the same afternoon. The programme of matches is:—Mulloy v. Talbert: Mulloy v. R. S. McKenzie: Mulloy and Talbert v. O. M. Bold and J. E. Robson: Peter Smith and J. A. Barry v. McKenzie and J. W. Gunn. Each match will be confined to two sets. The New Zealand Tennis Council has asked the Australian team which is to tour New Zealand to leave for this country about February 20. It has also been decided to invite two of the leading Australian younger women players. Misses J. Fitch and M. Bevis, to accompany the team.
